The Dunhill Hotel stands distinct on the Charlotte skyline as the ONE historic property. Opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor apartment hotel, with half of its original 100 rooms permanent residences, today’s Dunhill Hotel — “Charlotte’s Hotel” — is a 60-room, boutique hotel where both local residents and visitors enjoy memorable experiences. The Dunhill Hotel celebrates the original vision of its architect Mr. Louis Asbury, with a nod to the needs of the modern traveler.
Our restaurant, The Asbury, celebrates the best of what the South has to offer in ingredients, technique, creativity, and, of course, hospitality. The Asbury is a tribute to the city’s Southern roots and the culturally diverse community of the New South. In addition to its street-level dining room and the lobby bar, The Dunhill Hotel and The Asbury work together to provide guests with a unique meeting and special events venue. It is ideal for everything from small corporate meetings and executive retreats all the way to full-service rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions, with buffet dinners in one room and a dance floor in the next.
The Dunhill Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America®, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America, and is one of the program’s first boutique establishments. In addition to being one of Uptown Charlotte’s few remaining historic landmarks, it also has the largest collection of original works by North Carolina artist Philip Moose. The Penthouse Suite retains its original marble floor with double balconies offering panoramic views of Charlotte.
