This October, The Dunhill Hotel invites you to an evening of food, lore, and frights. Join us on either Friday, October 2 or Friday, October 23 at 6 p.m. for our Haunted History Dinner, where an expert from Nightly Spirits will share chilling tales of The Dunhill’s haunted past, ghostly legends from our neighbors at The Carolina Theatre, and other eerie stories from Charlotte’s storied history.

Your evening begins with hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary glass of bubbly, followed by a seated three-course dinner in our private event space as spine-tingling tales unfold throughout the night.

For those who dare, extend the experience with an overnight stay at The Dunhill Hotel, where some say the ghost of “Dusty” still roams the ninth floor and an elevator spirit lingers between worlds. Book our Haunted History room package, and you’ll get two tickets to the Haunted History dinner, plus complimentary self-parking and a breakfast credit of $30 per person to spend at The Asbury the next morning.

Murder Mystery Experience

Charlotte Murder Mystery Company returns to The Dunhill Hotel on Saturday, September 12, with “Evil on the Beach” – an immersive whodunit experience that includes a three-course dinner and cocktail hour – set in 1928, just one year before The Dunhill opened its doors in uptown Charlotte.

Step back into the final days of the Roaring Twenties, when jazz filled the air, cocktails flowed freely, and secrets were often hidden behind polished appearances. Guests will gather at The Dunhill for an evening of intrigue inspired by a seaside gathering at a Gulf Coast lodge where a celebration among former wartime comrades takes a deadly turn.

After a body is discovered on the beach, it’s up to you to investigate — working alongside the Detective and Charlotte Murder Mystery Company to uncover clues, question suspects, and determine “whodunit.” Enjoy a three-course dinner from The Asbury’s culinary team as the mystery unfolds around you.

This dinner experience is $85 per person and includes a welcome cocktail reception, three-course dinner, and the Murder Mystery. Dinner begins at 6 p.m.
